Hello,

My name's Jake Metcalf and I'm currently a university student studying Film-making with the hope of being a film director.

Why Film-making?

Well, I love watching films, reading about films and I try my best to write films. I love how film has a mutual appreciation around the world, how it can be used to spread contextual awareness, spread ones opinion, to entertain or to persuade. Each film maker has their own unique touch, expressing new and exciting ideas that elevate the industry to, in my opinion, one of the best art forms.

I love a wide range of films but particularily the 'French New Wave'. I love how they made films because they loved the medium and were tired of the "Traditions of Quality", to the point where they did something about it, from writing in 'Cahiers du Cinema' to directing their own films.
